Our ethos is to have fun singing and to enjoy each other’s company in addition to raising funds for charities and worthy causes. No audition is required, just a desire to sing and improve your musical experience. We rehearse every Wednesday evening during term time from 7.45 to 9.45pm (with a comfort break and time for a chat at 8.45pm, with refreshments for 50p) at the Chilterns Lifestyle Centre, Chiltern Avenue HP6 5AH. We sing a wide range of musical styles, including songs from the Shows (like My Fair Lady and Les Miserables), popular music (like the Beatles and Sting), choral music from John Rutter and seasonal (Christmas) favourites .

We have a small team of dedicated people who do what’s needed to make things happen, and a whole lot of members without whom there would be no choir! They are:

.
Elaine Brown is our Choir Director and the driving force behind the choir. After gaining a music degree from Trinity College of London, Elaine then decided to pursue a career in primary education. Having taught music at The Beacon, she has now stepped out of the classroom and is focusing on developing the pianists of the future and directing ACC. In her spare time she enjoys being a grandmother!.
.
Jenny Benjamin and Helen Patterson have been involved in the running of the choir since it started and who between them look after the music library (Helen) and money, concert visuals and website (Jenny). Both enjoy busy lives keeping up with friends, children, and grandchildren
.

Derek Brown,
one of our basses, and husband of Elaine, covers pretty much everything else logistically along with creating designs for and producing publicity materials.

Our members– We are fortunate to have good numbers of all voices (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) who come from Amersham, Chesham and the surrounding area, have a range of experience and come along each week, and for our concerts, to sing enthusiastically. Many also volunteer for the rota which provides us with our break time tea or coffee and cake, and help out to get everything done to make our concerts a success – letting everyone know when and where they happen, selling tickets, donating items for our raffles and helping with shifting staging and equipment.
